We had already done the hard part. The league was launched. Eight teams established, Canada against the USA. Our first preseason game was in the books. We knew exactly what we were building. Then the Toronto Star made it real for everyone else. A feature on the front of the Sports section, headline "Going Out on a Limb," asking whether arm wrestling could be pushed into the mainstream. It was our first real taste of public validation, the moment the outside world started to see what we already saw. We have come a long way since. But this one mattered.
